In Hebrew language, Simchat Torah means “rejoicing of the Torah”. In the Jewish calendar, it is considered one of the happiest days. It puts an end to the annual reading cycle of the Torah. The first section of the Book of Genesis and the last section of Deuteronomy are read throughout in succession after a parade of the festival of the Torah scrolls. Singing and dancing also follows the festival parade.
